PD Dr. Wanda Strauven

Wanda Strauven is Privatdozentin of Media Studies at the Goethe University Frankfurt, where she habilitated in 2015 with the manuscript entitled Tactile Media: A Media-Archaeological Approach. In 2014, she was Visiting Professor at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Milan and before that she was Associate Professor of Film Studies at the University of Amsterdam. Her research interests include early and avant-garde cinema, media archaeology, and children and media. She is the author of Marinetti e il cinema (Campanotto, 2006) and has (co-) edited several volumes including The Cinema of Attractions Reloaded (Amsterdam University Press, 2006). Her essays have been published in CiNéMAS, Cinéma & Cie, Iluminace, Maske und Kothurn, NECSUS, and New Review of Film and Television Studies.
